General
- Is this one company or two?
- One company with two departments. The snow and ice side has been running since 1993 and the material side trades under its own name, with its own phone line and its own Google listing, because a topsoil customer and a snow customer are not looking for the same thing. Both run out of the same yard on Seasons Road in Stow, under the same owner.
- Which number should I call?
- Snow and ice, and commercial grounds work, go to (330) 686-2850. Topsoil, leaf compost and asphalt millings go to (330) 805-7556.
- When are you open?
- The two sides run on different calendars. Snow and ice is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all winter long, because storms do not keep office hours. The material yard is open Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, through the warm months, roughly April through October.
- How long have you been in business?
- Since 1993, independently owned, and in Stow the whole time.
- Which towns do you cover?
- Snow and ice covers Stow, Cuyahoga Falls, Munroe Falls, Silver Lake, Tallmadge, Hudson, Kent, Macedonia, Norton, Akron. Material delivery reaches further and covers Stow, Cuyahoga Falls, Munroe Falls, Silver Lake, Tallmadge, Hudson, Kent, Akron, Twinsburg, Macedonia, Aurora, Streetsboro, because a load of topsoil travels further than a plow route does.
- How big is the crew?
- Fifteen people through the warm months and up to fifty during snow season.
- Do you hold any certifications?
- Certified Snow Professional and Advanced Snow Manager. We are also members of the Snow and Ice Management Association, the Accredited Snow Contractors Association and the Ohio Landscape Association.

- Do you plan the season with us ahead of time?
- We can outline a plan that best suits your needs before the winter season hits.
- Do you handle salting and de-icing too?
- Yes. Plowing, salting and de-icing are all part of the service, from one company.
- Can we call in de-icing as needed?
- Yes. Commercial customers can request call-in de-icing services.
- How does invoicing work?
- For commercial customers, seasonal services are invoiced on the 1st. Per-service work is invoiced on the 1st and the 15th. One-time work is invoiced upon completion.
- What payment options do you accept?
- Cash, check, credit or debit card with a 3.5% fee, and ACH with a 1% fee. Automatic payments are also available.
- How does the seasonal plan work?
- It is an unlimited package for the winter season for residential customers. One seasonal payment covers the winter and is typically due by the end of October. We plow on any snowfall of two inches or more.
- Do I have to call every time it snows?
- No. For residential customers on the seasonal package, plowing your driveway is our responsibility once you are signed up.
- Can you clear sidewalks along with plowing?
- For commercial customers, yes. Walkways, entrances and steps are cleared by request and subject to manpower availability.
- What if there is nowhere left to pile snow?
- Our loaders can stack snow higher or relocate piles so you do not lose parking spaces.
- Do you service industrial properties?
- Yes. We maintain both commercial and industrial grounds and tailor the service to what your property needs.
- Can I use one company for grounds and snow?
- That is exactly how we work. One company for your grounds and your snow.
The Material Yard
Topsoil, Compost and Millings
- How much topsoil do I need?
- One cubic yard covers about 100 square feet at three inches deep. Tell us the project and we will size the load.
- How is the topsoil delivered?
- By dump truck. Placement depends on where the truck can get to, and we do not typically drive across lawns for delivery.
- Is your topsoil screened?
- Yes. The topsoil is screened to pull out rocks, roots and debris.
- What is the difference between topsoil and leaf compost?
- Topsoil is what you build with. Compost is an amendment you mix in to add organic matter.
- How do asphalt millings compare to gravel?
- Millings bind together in warm weather, so they hold a firmer surface and wash out far less than loose gravel.
- How much do I need for a driveway?
- Give us the dimensions and we will work out the cubic yards.
- When is the best time to have millings put down?
- Warm weather. Heat helps the material knit together as it is compacted, so summer installs set up firmer than cold weather ones.
